Depends on where you are. I live in Helena but we have a lake house on Swan Lake. Kalispell is a lot different than here. The cost of living there is a lot higher because of the people Flathead attracts. Down here there isn't much but state and medical work so the draw is limited and a comfortable house like 3 Bed and 2 bath will run you only about 200K-250K and that comes with a good chunk of land. I will say though the housing market takes huge swings here. Still fresh air, mountains, hunting, fishing, hiking, boating, rivers lakes etc. If you love the outdoors Montana is kind of a sportsman's paradise and I couldn't give it up for the world.
