My mom's hair is super thin and fragile now from years of putting perms in, I believe. A lot of the older ladies in my family just shave theirs like the men do, as well, because dealing with such high effort hair is a huge pain. I got the "good hair" gene, so the older I get, the more appeal I see in just shaving it.

Yes there are.

Pool party was a success but my gramps got hospitalized last night so It's been a busy last couple of days. GRamps is going to be alright, he just had a major allergic reaction to something, but his sugar and blood pressure is all out of whack so they're kepping him.

How has today been?

 

I got one of those clampless curling irons that was the similar size to how my hair naturally waves/curls, and it made a world of difference for me. I don't use it on my full head, but it takes about 5 minutes to fix any cowlicks or sections that dried weird (or I slept on weird) and it made me SO MUCH MORE CONFIDENT. When my hair is all perfectly swoopy, I feel like I can conquer the world for whatever reason. When I was in college, I found a hairdresser who asked me why I was straightening, and when I told her that my hair was impossible, she gave me a haircut that blew my mind. Turned out, just needed some layers and a better shampoo and my hair was poof, magically better.

She also told me that my pipe dream of going copper red wasn't silly and introduced me to the glorious world of red hair.
