Um. So I let my neighbor borrow the WIFI. He is disabled vet. Apparently, while trying to sign up for food stamps, he typed in the wrong website which directed him to a website that said he had a virus and to call the number (which he did). The lovley fellow on the other end was happy to help my neighbor install a remote desktop software on his computer to "help him out". At this point, and no sooner for some reason, my neighbor decides that something is a bit fishy and comes over for my help. Once I assessed the situation, I immediately disconnected, ran to my house to turn off modem, and then removed malware from his computer.

Does anyone know if someone using remote desktop could fuck with the host's IP (me)? I have a feeling that they were trying to get to my modem as my neighbor was asking modem questions the "guy" was asking him to ask me.

Sorry if this is a bit confusing. I hate my life.
