Oh it isn't easy to get reductions or discounts at all. I called around for weeks and submitted boat loads of paperwork to get those reductions. I'm single / male / make about the same / no kids. I didn't qualify for most assistance out there, but the ones I did was huge. I also used https://www.goodrx.com/ to find my medicine cheap. I agree with you. The current system sucks pretty bad.
