Do you have an ALDI's near you? A lot of their no name brand stuff is made in the same factories with the same process as a lot of the stuff at trader joes, it's just rebranded. The owner of Trader Joes and the owner of ALDIs are brothers.

 

Much closer than a Trader Joe's for me.

 

think there might be one a reasonable distance from me seem to remember driving by one once I'll have to check

 

every trader joes I've been to was really cramped inside. I felt legitimately uncomfortable being there. Everything was overly expensive too. sure they have a lot of fancy olives and what not, but i didn't enjoy being there one bit.

I have tons of Trader Joe's around me lol, my area just got an ALDI's recently and I've been there shopping a few times. Their prices are fantastic and a lot of their stuff is really good quality.

 

never been in one just saw a lot of products not carried in the two stores in town here

The other day i needed to pass some time, so decided to go into Aldi on a whim since I was in the parking lot already. i figured I'd buy bananas for 49 cents a pound. Thought, welp that's pretty normal price.

Nope it was 49 cents for the big bunch. Not 49 cents a pound. They didn't weigh it. Just a flat 49 cents.

good deal.

I wish I knew though - I would have gone for the biggest bunch of the bunch.

 

Same experience at a World Market and Whole Foods. It was over priced, to many people touching EVERY SINGLE PACKAGE to make sure it was alien free, and it was really just a horrible experience all around at both places. Plus it's a long traffic fighting drive.

 

Aldi's has best price to quality ratio imo

Nice there is An Aldi's closeish to my house - further than I can drive so can't be my regular store but I'll get one of the kids to take me to stock up.
And there are several near my hotel

 

was about to inform angel that Aldi is cash only.

But apparently they changed that a couple years ago.

that was pretty much the only reason I didn't shop at aldi.

I love Trader Joe's. Saved my hiney when I was in college. I could feed myself decent food for a small price.

Still go to it now, but the one we have is small ish and the only one in town so is always crowded. While I get a great price on everything I want it's across town from me so factor the drive, the crowding, the wait in line...I just give up and go to the store that is a block from me.
