When I was in labor and the epidural rubbed off, my (not then) ex was rubbing my neck to help with the pain because that hurt, too, along with everything else.

He, innocently I see now, asked if he could stop for a moment because his fingers were sore. (brave man)

I did not react so nicely in the moment. I had vowed not to swear during labor, but right then a string of really bad words came out aimed at him and his poor wittle hurtie fingies.

When my bff was having her son (second kid) I drove her to the hospital as it was my day to stay home with her. Her hubby was at work so I was alone with her for a few hours until he could get there.

OMG. She turned into a demonic human at one point. I walked out of the room and told the nurses I was NOT going back in there until one of them was going in there with me holding a needle with a syringe full of painkillers.

@ChrisTurk So I'm just now catching up, but I was induced with mine, and everything turned out ok. The only complications I had were from me specific health issues. I will be thinking about y'all all weekend!! Just be there for mama and baby and everything will be ok. Since it IS planned, it should be under control.

 

You have no idea how happy this makes me. Best birthday present ever. I'm will be patiently (NOT) waiting.

 

CT, learn from my experience. While driving her to the hospital, do NOT ask if you can stop at Wendy's for a Frosty. The answer is no. We don't care that you are hungry for the next 18 years.

 

sometimes inductions go very quickly. My 2nd was an induction because they said after the first that ended in an emergency c-section if she went to term she would be too big. Anyway the put that gel on and said it would take awhile they would reapply the gel every few hours. 10 minutes later I was being rushed to a delivery room and holding a baby 45 minutes later - girls are so much easier they boys
