Not that I see mTurk closing it's doors but on the flipside I ran into issues with this payment method on another website where you didn't have a choice, there just were withdrawal minimums. So if you had less than $10 available when the work was done your money was just stuck there.

 

Which is why I'm still waiting on $9.20 six months later.

So I see one response from Amazon got posted. Here's mine and I think there is a bit of additional info (and mine left some out).

Thank you for contacting us regarding the limit of one transfer per week for your Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) payments. As part of the process of simplifying our payment systems we are now offering scheduled payment disbursements to Workers so you can expect regular deposits in your account for the tasks you’ve completed on MTurk.

New Workers will have the option to disburse payments every 7, 14, 30 or 60 days. As Workers gain tenure on MTurk, they will have the option of selecting more frequent payment schedules. Workers will still have the option of transferring payments to a gift card balance. Please note that there will be a two-day delay from the time you complete a task to when it is included in your transferable payments total and that there can also be a delay in the availability of funds depending on the policies of your financial institution of choice. Check with your financial institution for details.

This whole process sounds so much more complicated than it needs to be. I don't even want to know what scamming went on behind the scenes to necessitate this.

Guess I'll just set up a transfer every 7 days and hope for the best. And probably stop using payments to pay for my Amazon purchases unless this goes better than I think it will.

You know, I'm re-reading this and thinking maybe they mean once you do a HIT, it cannot be available for transfer until 2 days after. So if it's approved within the day, you have to wait, but if it takes a week to approve, once it's "paid", it's ready for transfer? Maybe that's what they mean with the "2day delay after you complete the task".

 

Are you sure you don't want to take a nervous shit, get there 2 hours early and have a panic attack in the parking lot?

That what works for me---oh wait, maybe that's why I'm a turker

 

Hopefully you can answer it by saying "get masters" and then just throw people into an endless loop

 

Step 1 complete, probably going to move on to step 2 soon. Want to get early, but not too early since the parking lot over there costs by the hour since it's right by the arch
