Substitute teacher, iirc. (There'd better be a special place in the afterlife for those who occupy that job.)

Does anyone here have access to the Daemo platform? I don't want folks to break an NDA or anything if there is one, but I have some questions if you wouldn't mind PM'ing me.

They posted this to reddit. Its worth a read, but I'm suspicious how it solves any of the actual problems w/ mTurk as a standalone platform.. Seems more concerned with how people act on SM surrounding the platform than the actual function of it?

They kind of screwed a lot of people over by not paying them. When it was limited to certain people, they left registrations open on the site so anybody could join.
Word got out thru the forums and people signed up and could do tasks on the site. It never mentioned that you had to be invited by them to the join the site. It wasn't towards the end of the two week test or so, that is was announced that those that weren't invited were not gonna get paid.

It certainly makes the whole 'constitution of good feelingness' a little ironic to read, lol.

I'm just of the opinion that I couldn't give two shits less how other people act as long as money exchanges hands at a sufficient rate. It'd certainly be nice to work in a friendly atmosphere, but if I'm picking things I want fixed about mTurk that particular section is probably dead last on the list :(. TO is an abused wasteland because of their flagging option.. I don't see how implementing that into mTurk is anything but pie-in-the-sky wishful thinking :/ (but I can't see how it functions since the platform is closed, hence my curiosity, whoops)

Got invited, registered late, and did $19.00 worth of work for them. Never got paid. I think they're just trying to get the middleman out of the picture (Amazon), and introduce a brand new platform for academics and companies.

TO is hilariously bad. The only things that matter are, did I get paid, did I get paid well for my time spent. Requester can be the biggest ash hole in the world, I don't care as long as I get my money lol.
So it will be like Prolific essentially.

Prolific pays. Daemo, and the folks who operate the platform, just want free work, I'm guessing. :)

Edit: People did get paid, but like @Tripsa said, for some reason they allowed those who never received invitations to register.
