    Just looked up the recipe. They sound yummy! I'm surprised my mom never made them. She use to make all kinds of cookies at Christmas.

    Yes and I sold the dickens out of it in the bakery because noone could really make it right locally, and on Etsy because, well, I guess it's hard to find.

    Maybe it's a Kentucky thing, that's where I grew up, and my grandma made it, but I feel like it's more of a depression era thing. Something grandmas made when other ingredients were scarce.
