05/12 - Thankful (taco) Tuesday

I'm a hypocrite. I rarely hold a book any longer. I have stacks and stacks I want to read. It's just that I can't crochet and read at the same time. Which sucks. So I listen to most of them.

But I love being surrounded by books.

I was over the moon happy today watching the Senate hearings and seeing the scientists in their home offices with messy bookshelves and Fauci even had stacks of books on the floor and I was all, "See? I'm not a slob! That's normal!"

Yeah that was my first lightbulb idea. I don't usually use a purse, but I recently started carrying one sometimes, so when I thought of it, I thought for SURE it was in there. And it was not. I also thought I had the genius idea to keep it in my glove box, since it's not unlike me to go to Home Depot on a whim (well, pre-covid), so I figured I would have kept it on hand there. Have you considered that one pair of jeans you wore when you felt like giving a shit that one time? and they kinda don't fit anyway but damn you look good in them? but also who tf are any of us kidding, we have no business wearing cute jeans. those jeans that you then you threw in a corner because they're not dirty after one wear but also not clean so you don't wanna hang them up?

um maybe check your least used pockets is what i'm saying. i don't have shame jeans. stop looking at me, everyone!

Thanks! I think marbles are an interesting and challenging thing to take photos of. I don't know why.
In this case, I think the little anvil is particularly cool. It's technically a 'jeweler's' anvil to the best of my knowledge.
They're not especially expensive, but they're not toys either, and you will pay for the shipping weight!

 

Years ago my dad and I had to downsize to a tiny rental from a huge [for two people] house where I had 3 bedrooms to myself, and losing my multiple bookshelves was probably one of the hardest parts. Now I only have room for ~decorative~ ones or cookbooks or reference books. I always dreamed of having a Beauty and the Beast library. One day (I can dream lol)

 

Please no one attempt the Emotion Scenarios hit by Thomas Holtgraves. I embarrassingly spent 20 minutes, YES 20 MINUTES, on that piece of crap before I gave up and returned it. The writing prompts are NEVER ENDING. I emailed the guy because I was just so shocked at the amount of writing he wanted for 2.50. He normally pays pretty well.
