I do that now in my 30's? Maybe they don't want the world hearing or being able to see what they're watching? Maybe it's just more comforting to watch shows from their phones? They aren't bothering you so leave them be. Sheesh helicopter dad.

 

I don't care for the most part it just seems kinda weird to me, I was trying to grasp how common it is. It's not something I'm really use to. My older 2 would hang in their rooms but not in bed so it's a bit new to see that.

I spent my teenager years locked up in my room playing video games when I was not working. Started a job at age 16 and never had a day of unemployment since then but when I got home I played MMOs all day every day when not at work or school lol.

Definitely would say it's kinda common, at least with people my age (young adults). I do it pretty often, though I try to push myself not to do it that often because I already have sleep issues as it is. I think it has to do with the evolution of technology and how its affecting peoples' energy. Lots of people I knew in college did a lot of their work in bed, ate in bed, hung out in bed a lot, etc. I don't think it necessarily constitutes laziness depending on what you do with the rest of your day, but I think it's good to get out of bed, outside, etc., from time to time.

 

I am so sorry for your loss, please take care of yourself and do what you need to do. It is hard to process and takes a lot of time to heal from the loss of a parent, I am still going thru things after the loss of my dad in January of 2019 after a 7 month battle with pancreatic cancer.

 

I'm so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
