    He was extremely influential in the early 90's grunge scene. I remember listening to a radio documentary about him a few years ago, and it was crazy how many bands he helped launch.

    I pass Prince's house/recording studio on my way to church. It was amazing to see all the people who lined up outside of his place last year and the distance some people traveled to say goodbye.

    When I joined the band (yes I'm a band geek, what? you wanna go? let's go), the first year we did a tribute to Queen. We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions, Fat Bottomed Girls, Bicycle Race and Bohemian Rhapsody.

    I come from a musically inclined family, I was singing Elvis at 5 years old, everyday I can home from school, down went the books and on went my Elvis 45s < for those too young to know what a 45 is, it was a mini vinyl album with 2 songs on it usually. I started the guitar at 12, had to give up drums because I sucked and drove everyone insane. My mom was a singer and had many local bands she played in, so I got to go to the clubs to see her and her bands play. got to meet many musicians over the years. I love music and will so til I take my last breath... It is a part of who I am.

    This is a great weekly radio program from Canada. This is from a couple of years ago and has a lot of interesting tidbits about the influence of Chris Cornell if you want something on in the background.
