Bill would block computers bought in S.C. from accessing porn
People buying computers in South Carolina would be limited in their access to porn online under newly proposed legislation.

A bill pre-filed this month by state Rep. Bill Chumley would require sellers to install digital blocking capabilities on computers and other devices that access the internet to prevent the viewing of obscene content.

The proposal also would prohibit access to any online hub that facilities prostitution and would require manufacturers or sellers to block any websites that facilitate trafficking.

Both sellers and buyers could get around the limitation, for a fee. The bill would fine manufacturers that sell a device without the blocking system, but they could opt out by paying $20 per device sold. Buyers could also verify their age and pay $20 to remove the filter.

Money collected would go toward the Attorney General Office’s human trafficking task force.

Chumley’s bill has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee.

I said the same. Only I added "please" because I am not above begging.

 

I've spent a long time trying to defend Mturk publicly and can sing the same praises of a really good income here being paired with a really steep learning curve. However, I've come to terms now that if Mturk has a bad name in communities like r/frugal, r/workonline, etc, then that just means more money for us as it's less workers coming to Mturk.

 

I feel like people who write these articles (to be fair, I didn't read it) go to Mturk, click the first hit they see and draw conclusions based on that. I mean there is a lot of shit work, probably over 90% of hits available at any time do fit into the usual narrative. But if you're a half way decent journalist you need to go beyond that. Maybe even stop to consider what the first w in www means. A lot of those shit hits are being done by Indians.

It's like going to indeed.com and applying for the first job you see. It turns out to suck. The pay is low and the boss is a dick. Then you decide to write an article about how this employment thing is bullshit.

Totally. Same; this week marked the first time that my weekly earnigns were higher than anyone else who posted. I always looked at Tripsa's and wondered, "How in the hell?!", but saw it as inspirational. I think there's probably some truth to people lying and under-reporting their earnings over at Reddit, but on the other hand, from a lot of the posts here of people clinging to their helplessness like a city racoon clings to a crooked drain pipe, perhaps there really are people who make so little.

I guess it's perspective. My first month, I made something like $80. Then, for awhile, I thought a good week was over $150. Now, I'm bummed when I've made less than $400 in a week.

I guess the weirdest thing with the "can't be done" crowd is their mentality of accusing others of lying about earnings. People are weird: I prefer monkeys. Which reminds me, "Planet Earth II" is awesome and anyone who's remotely interested in their current vessel through space [yes, I'm making assumptions; I know it doesn't hold true for a couple of you] should check it out.

 

This is the only reason I'm still awake ATM.
