You can set separate resolutions for each monitor try going to the control panel of your graphics card, that is what I did because I had a similar issue because of my monitors is slightly smaller than the other. something like
this.

it's set to it's max. I can have windows to the edge, it's literally just my desktop picture that isn't going edge to edge, so it's liveable. Now if I could just figure out how to have my windows snap to Left or Right side of the second monitor (right is working, left isn't because it just drags it back onto the laptop). And does anyone know of a windows 7 like program that would allow me to automatically set up 4 quadrants instead of just left and right? I'm lazy dont' want to keep resizing windows myself.

Isn't there a setting somewhere in windows that I can ask the mouse to flash at me if I hit a key? IE when I inevitably lose it?
