Not the painter's fault, blame the contractor/homeowner for not having an organized timeline. But hey, I'll come do touch ups. FOR A PRICE.

@rdaneel and @ceedj - that's where the EFFORT I mentioned comes into play. Not arguing with either of you, but as a guy who works in efficiencies and improving them all day everyday, I can tell you that all the tools in the world are useless if no effort is taken to use them to their maximum capabilities.

lol I know it's not the painters fault. But it seems like literally 95% of people cant schedule right and they just make our work harder.

We just had to do this. Our area only has Suddenlink, Centurylink, and Hughes Net. My parents paid $190 for TV cable, phone, and 100mb internet without a cap. My dad recently saw an ad for our same bundle for $103 for new customers. He called and asked why we weren't getting that price; the rep said that was because we weren't new customers (my parents have been with Suddenlink for 30 years). My dad threatened to swtich to Centurylink (which wasn't feasible because their fastest speed in this area is only 10mb), and they immediately connected him to the "customer retention line". He got the bill dropped from $190 to $145.

One situation comes to mind, paint a whole house and trim, and right at the end of the job, decides they want to tear the rugs and baseboards out. Then come back and fix it. For FREE.

So, carpet replace first, then paint? Or old carpet demo, paint, then new carpet install?

Anyone had issues with adding a checking account to Amazon payments? I made a transfer to my account back in April then quit turking. Last few weeks since I've been back I've just been using my balance on Amazon for Christmas stuff. Went to transfer the rest and my account wasn't listed and when I went to add a new account it just says can't add. Tried both my accounts and got the same. Is there some kind of issue that I don't know about? Their contact us link is about as useful as expected...

I had this problem, too. A week ago. They haven't been at all helpful, though. Luckily I had a back up account attached.

Remove old, add new carpet and trim, then paint. Everything gets messed up trying to paint first, with all the ripping and tearing. You can touch up some, but you're going to run into flashing issues (uneven drying) if it's too big an area.

    Also, my brushes are Purdy.

    HAH!

    Ok, going away now. ;)

People are always trying to get free work I swear. At least once a week a customer was trying to scam me into doing some free work. People are insane.

I can only get 25Mbps down at the fastest speeds so I think anything more than $40-50 is too damn high for that range. I would pay more for faster speeds but they dont have anything better available in my area. They dont make you sign a contract, its basically a guarantee they wont raise your rates for however long you agree to. When I asked them about signing something, they said its not that kind of contract lol.

Centurylink will do the same crap, my bill went from $30 to $75 one month elate last year and Centurylink told me it was because my 2 year promo rate passed. I looked online saw them offering the same speed for new customers at $30 a month with free install, when I told them I wanted to cancel and reopen my account at the same address with free installation they somehow "found" a way to put me back at my old amount again.

Another thing that bothers me about that reddit thread (since I've been stewing on it for a while now :p ) are the people saying "well why don't you just go get a real job?" which,

    1) [IMG]

    2) I had a "real" job at a library for a while. 20 hours a week, no benefits, and a horrible passive-aggressive manager (plus horrible library director). I made about $170/week at that.
Now that I'm back to turking, I'm making roughly that amount per week, but I also have a hell of a lot more flexibility to search for real jobs, help my brother get his car repaired, do Christmas stuff, learn coding, etc etc. I'm probably putting in more hours than I was at the library but I'm a lot less stressed about it.

leave bad carpet in b/c shit happens when painting.
My parents are redoing their kitchen and the painters left HUGE handmarks all over their carpet and furniture. Granted, they're going to replace everything but still. I told them they should fight to at least get part of the new couch costs covered b/c seriously, who the fuck puts their hands covered in paint on someone's couch?!

Yeah, I thought that was weird about centurylink. I wondered if they had higher speeds that they weren't displaying on the website, or what. I get 100 mbps now so that would be quite the downgrade. I'm getting really tired of paying 113 for just internet, but they forced me to upgrade after I went over my data cap 3 months in a row.

Well that's not good. It used to be attached because I've withdrawn before. I suspect it may be tied to my regular amazon account payments which I cleaned out earlier this week including that bank account. I suppose I need to call but man I don't want to.
