12/28 - Wishful Wednesday!

    It's definitely a huge learning curve if it's not something you're used to. It's not just typing while you're listening to something, but getting used to different formatting is a HUGE part of it. Not to mention learning any helpful transcribing software.

    And FWIW, to gauge pay, I can usually do double time, or a little less (so - something says 100 media minutes, I try do it in 175-200 real-time minutes). But this obviously varies greatly with format requirement like timestamps, how many speakers, quality, interview format, podcast format, speech format, etc. Sometimes I can do it all in real-time, others will take 3x as long. So, I try to only do .50/media min or higher. And yeah, most of the unqualled stuff is shit. But there is some guaranteed shit with masters qual, too. Last night I saw one that was $5 for 30 media minutes, roflno.
