Does anyone know why C-SATS are a thing? Why do they pay money for a non-surgeon like me to assess someone's skills?

I was all amped up to type a response and saw you linked the website. I will say, they did a huge pilot study where they compared the average ratings and time it took to get the responses from mturk, surgeons, and I think fb? The mturk folks and surgeons had almost the same average scores but the turk people turned it around in ya know, a day, whereas the surgeons took 30 days roundabout cause of their schedules.

 

Can someone please clean up these YTAs so I stop getting excited every few minutes...
