I don't watch much sports and when I glanced at that I thought it was a poster for some furry game. :behindsofa:

:eyebrows: not a bad idea! Jk...mayyybe. Marvel does several cool college football posters every year for big opening games and the playoffs which I love because I'm both a dork and obsessed with football. And let's be serious, part of the reason I like football so much is because football is essentially guys in tight pants who hit each other for my amusement on tv.:arms:

    @Ana*

So I ended up way over budget when I was quickly throwing a build together for you...

Perhaps a prebuilt is actually a good idea for your price range?

(part of the issue is only being able to pick parts from ncixus)

Also you would need to add around $20 for the keyboard / mouse.

I'm sure I could have made the build down to $500 if I cut a bunch of corners but you might actually be better off with this prebuilts unless you suddenly are able to build it yourself so you could buy stuff from amazon ect.

The one corner that you could cut which shouldn't be a big deal is replace the SSD with a HDD. You could save ~$80 and get 5x the storage space and really only lose a speed boost on the boot time.

I find that the speed difference of just about everything on an ssd vs a hdd pretty huge. tbh

None of the prebuilts that I like enough are in my budget. Tbh this is the closest thing so far, but I might fiddle with it a little.
Thanks for the helps and yet another link to check out XD

What do you notice speed boosts in? I know the boot cycle runs faster but in terms of every day use I have never felt like my HDD was inadequate.

Until you use an SSD you won't notice how often you sat around waiting for it. Almost all of the delays I had when I was on an HDD went away when I got an SSD.

Btw I didn't put a DVD drive in the build.. but I haven't used optical media in years. :dunno: If you want one though they are fairly cheap.

One thing that could be done is if you managed to save ~$70 from the build price on a few parts you could sneak a i5 6500 in the build. With that you would have a computer that would be ready to turn into a gaming computer at any time that you wanted to by just adding a GPU later down the line. (A $200 GPU later down the line would turn the computer into a fairly beefy gaming pc)

Another thing to note is I got a single 8gig stick of ram for you.. later down the line when they are cheap you can get more ram but 8gigs should be enough for you for now.

Hey everybody. Busiest day of the year here at the good ole bowling alley, so I probably won't be able to turk much tonight. But I wanted to drop in and wish everyone a happy new year. 2016 saw me pick up turking as a way to pay my bills while unemployed, and thanks to all you fine grind migrants (and turkerhub newbies! nickcagewelcome.gif), bought a freaking car (which was subsequently t-boned, but I don't believe that was your fault), supplemented my income, and led to a devastating dovetail of a fantasy football season. Happy to be able to call many of you friends, and the rest of you co-workers. May 2017 bring everyone a better and brighter year, and be safe out there tonight.

As much as I want to be an elitest about having an SSD.. this a better build for you for the same price.

It will be ~$20 more for a keyboard and mouse if you need them. Also if you need a disc drive I can find one for you that is cheap or you can get an external USB one.

Randomly adding onto this conversation, but you could definitely take the OS from 90 to 26~30 by buying it off Kinguin.net. Not sure how nervous one would be by doing that, but I've bought two without problem. 26 base price, if nervous add two dollars for the buyer's protection.
