07/01 - Stats Saturday!

The fireworks are making my poor dog cry.

 

My sister's dog was really scared by them last year, but my own dog doesn't seem to care at all. The toy poodle we had years ago was so scared by the fireworks he had a heart attack, I miss that little guy.

 

That's so sad! This dog is already on meds for his anxiety, poor thing.

 

Same here. One dog in the bathtub, the other hiding in a closet. The cat doesn't care about anything though.

Mine's barking at the fireworks now.

We'd had that dog for 12+ years, he was a little ash hole but I still loved him. I hope your dog's okay.

 

It's always sad losing a pet. It's quiet for now and he's happily snoozing with his head on my leg.

 

Meanwhile, there's a thunderstorm here so Skeeter is losing his little mind. He's retreated to the guest bathroom, but he's not freaking out in the tub so he's only slighty upset and not having a full blown anxiety attack. I hope your dog feels better, it's always the worst when they are anxious!

 

I'm pretty sure the same storm just passed us, but my dog slept through it. He's solid as a rock, the only thing he's scared of is the lawn mower. My sister's dog was an anxious little thing who couldn't stand being alone. She used to hide under my desk from the blow dryer, or try to cuddle with me on my pillow during a thunderstorm.

The problem is that when he notices I'm filming him, he always stops what he is doing. I think it would too hard to film him without him noticing, but I can try!

I have learned to turn the flash off, because otherwise this happens (sorry for the vertical video):

 

My dog hides in my office closet w/ all my network equipment.. can never tell if the storm knocked out the internet or if the dog unplug a switch/router/whatever while crawling into a corner lol

I'm from NY Matt is from Georgia. We both went to college in SC at the same university as @ChrisTurk ! Absolutely no one can figure out where I'm from based on my accent because (and if I'm drunk it's so much worse) I cycle through a few different accents on a daily basis. Matt says he knows I'm super pissed off when I start talking, or yelling, like a Yankee. I still have not been able to ever say ya'll though, I just cannot. Whenever I order Long Island Iced Teas, I refer to them as "the drink of my people!" This annoys him, but in fact I stopped saying it probably a year ago because now he just says it for me.

Yeah, we are gross!

 

lmao! noo that's cute! I must say the college years have definitely attributed to your accent a bit I'm from West Virginia (yes, my family is pretty genetically spaced out) and I won't say "ya'll" or "yins". HOWEVER.. I am the from the utmost point in the state, I can't speak for the southerners.
