This is reminding me of the asshats at the airport who insisted they didn't need anyone for media marketing whilst simultaneously running the media into the ground to the point of losing money. Yeah, sure they didn't need to get paid 20/hr, but they made the entire place seem unprofessional.

Guess what suckers, I took 90% of my work with me when I left and now people are complaining. Sorry, not sorry.

Yeah, I had a colleague that was in graphic design prior to IT and still did some freelance stuff and she got to the point where she wasn't interested in doing much freelance anymore because it wasn't worth her time and if they wouldn't pay her fees they'd just go find someone else that was in college and was like yeah sure, I'll do it for $30.

Yes! This a thousand times. Just because you have the equipment, software, whatever it may be doesn't make you skilled. These professions require SKILLS not equipment.

Please stop doing this. If you don't want to answer a question you really don't have to, but yes/no answers to a question that clearly would need expansion to be answered in a helpful manner can sometimes come across as snarky since its the Internet & no one can read inflection.

Or at least attach an adorable gif to indicate the humor, because its really hard to pick up online.

I feel like you were in the sweet spot where Adobe was still profiting off of their old model then. Before it was literally EVERYWHERE on the internet for free.

The other end of that true too though, sometimes people are good at what they do and have a super over-inflated sense of worth. I don't care how good you're photo skills are you aren't worth $500 an hour. No one is worth $500/hr lol. Well... maybe a surgeon but they are worth that and charging ten times that so....

I do feel like some of the underpaid creative stuff does have a market for people that don't have a lot of experience but it's knowing when to say, "Ok now I have the experience and I'm no longer going to do work for that rate" that way people really are getting what they pay for.
