    That's the way it was when I was growing up in Louisiana. Yes, every type of carbonated soft drink was a coke. Even a Pepsi was a coke.

    I'll just have a regular Coke. I want a Dr. Pepper coke.

    I think this was mostly a deep south thing, from Georgia, west to East Texas.

    Anymore, I just call everything sodas.
