We have them on every window in the house. They are good at keeping the cool air in during the summer. Plus when I'm being lazy on the couch watching movies I like it dark.

 

at one place I lived, I had black out curtains TAPED to the pane of the windows.
Then another set hanging "correctly".
AND a black out seem on the door jamb.
You did not know what time of day it was if you took a nap. Woke up, and it was 100% dark.

Yeah the only reason I haven't gotten them yet is because the lighting in my house sucks and the natural light helps a lot but I have creepy neighbors and I don't want to pull the curtains open to let the light in so I have some that still allow the light in but keep eyes at least partially out

 

I want to put up my blackout curtains because it's -8 and the windows in my living room/home office (lol) are frozen shut on the inside and out. They're so drafty. But I have cats who would climb and shitty lighting.

 

To buy more grandma's or not...that is the question

I was sad when I woke up and the snow was still here. Day 3. We rarely ever get snow. It's 29 today. I guess I shouldn't complain. 29 is way warmer than -5.
