    I feel like that wouldn't be enough power for a desktop computer but I would have to check the math.

    You should be aware that a small amount of computer PSUs need to have a true sine UPS or they won't be able to handle the pass off from wall power to battery without rebooting.

    If you get a normal (cheaper) non true sine make sure that you test a power outage with your computer and see if it handles it without rebooting.

    SHe probably has about a 300W power supply in her HP computer so that range is plenty to let it run for a little while or save her work and shut down gracefully.

    Well that is assuming a lot of things.

    @angel what are the specs of the computer you are running? I'm assuming that it isn't a laptop because you don't really need an UPS for a laptop.

    I'm not assuming - I worked for 16 years in IT and when I did a comp rollout I usually just got a 550VA APC model and installed the Power Chute software to gracefully shut each computer down. I have prolly ordered over 4000 computers while I was working for Verizon, Red Hat, Kenda Systems, Brock Cabinets, and Lafayette Business Machines

    OEM builders like HP put in the smallest power supply possible. Now If it was my PC - I put an 850W corsair PSU in it and run a 1500VA APC Smart UPS but that is a little overkill
