    ahhh...

    Can't really speak to bigger cities that have way more delivery options but in my experience general middle america still pays drivers hourly plus mileage and tips, so I think that's where our perspectives differ.

    You will always pay for your server's paycheck. This is how economy works. Either you pay it through the tip, as in America, or you pay it when prices are raised 20% or whatever it takes to increase the person's wage, as in most other countries. Tips aren't extra in the US. They're an additional charge paying for service just like a shipping fee or whatever.

    Oh I do. I've never not tipped at all but the level of tip really depends on the service. If you friendly and keep my drink topped off, you're gonna get a lot better tip than if you drop off the food and then I don't see you again until you drop off the bill. Also If I'm somewhere with really cheap food and a good waitress I'm gonna tip way more than the standard 15-20%

    My husband brought in tips that averaged out his hourly to the point that he made almost more than me, nearing 15/hr. Plus we got discounted pizza. Man, I wish he still had that job.
