I think you're really overstating the number of bad reviews on worthwhile HITs. As I said above I run HF with TO set to 2.5 while also running TM set to grab anything above 1.00. Inevitably the HITs I end up returning are ones with low TO. YMMV and all, though.

I agree his delivery needs work, hopefully this'll be useful in expanding on the topic since I mostly agree with the end conclusion (TO filtering isn't ideal):

    • TO's data is unreliable (for a myriad of reasons, ranging from incompetency of the platform to flat out greed).
    • Allowing others on a competitive platform to make decisions on what you work on is bad practice. It limits creativity in both the way you approach finding work and the way you evaluate work you do look at (scriptssss).
    • Using a block list allows greater flexibility, you can block by individual HITs or by entire requester groups, or even more if you step outside the box and create your own tools, which can even include TO's 4 presets.
    • There is no nuance with TO filtering. Reviews that are months/years old are weighted just as heavily as reviews from yesterday. There is no correction for cost of living differences, disability, your ability to script a HIT, etc etc.
    • You can prune your block lists frequently to have an ever evolving database of requesters which is useful for tracking purposes. Some requesters get better, far more get worse over time.
I'm not of the opinion that "no one at no time" should ever use TO filtering, but if you're working on the platform seriously for income generation than I think relying on TO is a very poor decision. Its great for lazy people, just like HN is. You'll rarely be at maximum efficiency using it.

2 of my top 10 requesters since joining the platform will never show up on HF if you scrape by anything more than 2.5 on TO (1 of them is <2,5 across the board on all 4 categories with a half dozen reviews).

I agree, at large datasets TO is pretty accurate.. but it takes way too long for a requester to collect that kind of data on there, especially when there are folks who actively hide requesters with bad reviews a lot of the time.

I'm glad your system works for you, but I definitely disagree with using TO as a filtering mechanism unless the option of # reviews to validate it is there.

I've been holding off on this one because I've seen so many bad reviews saying they removed a ton of stuff compared to 3. That trailer for the vampire addon though has me wanting to get it lol.

sims 4 is okay. sims 3 is better imo, but there's a lot more customization in terms of sims. now that they've got toddlers out for free and a lot of expansion packs, i'd say go for it. :)

    I agree

I still think Sims 3 is the best in the series in just sheer amount of things to do with your Sims, but it's also horrendously slow and buggy

Sims 4 is getting better, but where it really shines imo is the Create-a-Sim and house building parts. They made those tools so much more streamlined/more intuitive/easier to use

I should have grabbed it when Target had it for $14.99 before Christmas. I guess I'll add it to my amazon list to buy eventually with my free half of Turking dough. Did you ever play the console version of 3? was it any good? Computer games for me right now aren't that easy just because It's also my HTPC so it's only hooked up to my big TV hanging over the fireplace.

Thanks for explaining that far better then I ever could.

I admit to not being the best at explaining stuff and perhaps being too blunt.

If you read any of my posts on MTG, I'm the exact same way. ITS MY SYSTEM AND ITS THE BEST EVERYTHING ELSE IS TRASH.

The amount of editing it takes to not have my posts come out like that is absurd LOL.

I try to hold back with various topics but stuff will still slip through. I just try and be honest and helpful when I can. If I must be blunt to get the point across without spending an 30min retyping it I will.

You need to tap your heels together three times... or pm @ChrisTurk on MTG. (or if he remembers you / you have the same name he will just throw you the tag)
