For those who remember getting their first pair of glasses: How long did it take you to get used to wearing them?

I'm farsighted, and I just got glasses a few days ago for up-close work (specifically turking).
Dilemma: The lenses make for less strain on my eyes and really help -- but seeing the frames that close to my eyes at all times is even worse than not wearing them. I feel like my depth perception it all effed up, and my eyes are freaking out (making it super hard to make dem monies).

Did any of you experience something similar and subsequently adjust to stop getting headaches and extra eye strain after a while?

If you really need them, wear them all the time in spite of these first adjustment problems. Soon (not long) they will be your new organ like you cannot see your nose while looking around.

 

I just got glasses in May. I guess I'm nearsighted? It took a lot of getting used to them, but after a few days I stopped noticing that I was wearing them.

 

You'll get used to it eventually! Half the time I forget my glasses are on to the point I will insist I lost them when they are on my face.

 

When I first got glasses, I felt that way. I think it was the curve of the lenses were causing it. It felt like my world was warped. Contacts never bothered me.

 

These are not for wearing all the time, because they are only for seeing up close. That might be why it's difficult to adjust to them. In order to wear them a lot to get used to the feeling, it means having to stare at up-close things a lot, too.
