But you act as if there are people who really have that option. Lots of people in the state make less than 15/hour, which really doesn't amount to that much after all the taxes. Greanted, the cost of living in my area is a good bit higher than the average in Cali, but still. We aren't bad with money, we are in fact very good with money, and we are living in a shitty place because renting a place equiavalent to what we had before wouldn't allow us to save money like we have.

Breaking even isn't a way to live bro, it's not a good long term plan. And we are lucky to both have middle class jobs and combined resources, not everyone is.

 

Arizona has an insanely low cost of living, as long as you stay away from Flagstaff. Amirite?

 

Dude, do you forget about income tax? Cause, 60k a year before taxes does not equal that by the time all is said and done.

 

I already put that into the math. People are just bad with money and spend it on frivolous stuff when they can't afford to. Live within your means.

I've never ventured near flagstaff tbh. But out of the places I've been, the COL ain't bad at all compared to other places I've been!

 

I live in Ohio so I think it definitely makes the shock value crazy. You can buy decent starter houses in my area for well under $60k.
