10/28 - Spotting Saturday!

Most of the stuff that has been up has died within a few minutes.

 

What watch do you have? Mine is a zewatch 2 to go along with my zenfone 2. I loved my watch until they updated to AW 2.0. Notifications don't stay in the notification spot on the face anymore, I don't get all the notifications anymore and battery life is horrible now

I keep the sound off on my phone all the time and it was nice knowing when I got a text or call. Step counter is a must for me and it seemed really accurate so I love that. Also nice big digital display of time/date is great when i'm at work since I get asked that all the time. I want it to work well again

 

I think that proper augmented reality glasses or something would be a nice solution for me but all of the ones so far like google glasses just don't have advanced enough tech to make it work.

 

I loved my Zenwatch but my GF apparently lost it somewhere after she stored it when I was trying a different watch out.

I've been using a Garmin vivoactive exclusively for quite a while now. Can't find the charger to my original Pebble or I'd probably swap back and forth between the two.

 

Bummer. I did just grab three $1 surveys since my post, so there's that at least.

 

I used to have a Recon Jet, and I wore it all the time.

I even wrote some apps for it and really liked it a lot, but it was one of those things I sold when I lost my $$$ so that I could keep playing video games all day without working.

Huh that looks like a google glass v2. Neat

 

My uncle had a Google Glass and we compared eyewear. The HUD experience was pretty similar, except the corner of the eye that it'd pop up on. The Jet was also more responsive, and the swappable batteries, built in GPS, etc., were what really made it shine. The Jet is a fully-featured Android device with its own CPU/RAM/storage/etc., rather than a slave unit to a phone. I can't begin to tell you how cool it was to have maps that auto-rotated to the orientation of your head when riding the bike lol.

 

I just wish that we had the tech to project onto our retinas but we obviously don't have that yet. Full FOV projections would be neat.

 

You'd have some safety certifications to get past - buggy software could block your vision for a moment and cause a car wreck, for example.

 

Well yeah just ban human driven cars and force everyone to use self driving cars. I doubt that we will have the tech before self driving cars are completely road ready.

 

Yup. I didn't always know if the power would be on when I got home as a kid, lifelong paranoia with money now.

Damn, I wish I could still look at snow that way.

Snow, to me, looks like not being able to get the car out of the driveway,
I-84 shutting down because of unsafe mountain passes,
not being able to ride my bike safely from A to B,
etc.

When we get snow, they shut down our interstate in the county. Yay.
