Blah.. The irony of my weekend: Spending 20 hours going through task/productivity/project management apps, half of which I know I don't like (TRELLOOOOOO), only to end up sticking with OneNote :emoji_sweat_smile::emoji_gun:

Lerner Laboratory [A2QVB5V5V4BBQF] NFL Football -- Recruiting NFL Fans for a survey on prediction, $1.50, 15 min, Bonuses Possible(~ 15 minutes) - $1.50

Pros: Great topic, possible bonus. Off topic questions are not quite as boring as the usual survey. Can be completed faster than what I did for sure.
Cons: - A lot of instructions throughout
    - Bonus potential isn't great, might bump pay from fair to the lower levels of good
    - Progress bar not always accurate, was at like 90% and had to do like 4 more screens of questions.

For managing small personal projects or projects with maybe 1-5 people, I just prefer Google Calendar.

Honestly? Not much. Its simply better than the bloated web apps it sits next to for me.

I despise being locked in my browser, and OneNote has a native desktop app (that also syncs w/ mobile/etc).

I like that I can emulate a kanban board with it, though it isn't as elegant/pretty as Trello I find it more functional, or simple tasks lists works too and I can do more or less whatever I want with it for individual projects. So if one project is more complex I can break it up into various parts of the notebook and implement PM designs that work for that individual project. But there is absolutely no syncing between projects, or hell even individual pages.

Biggest drawback for me is no automatically generated daily task lists. What I generally do is section off time blocks in my day for various projects, I want something that will grab tasks from my project folders and add them to my "daily queue" so when say 8PM rolls around, it throws whatever I should be working on for TurkerView onto my task list. Or when I wake up in the AM I can see a daily overview of what I'll be working on all day.

I'm not even sure anything like that exists.. I certainly haven't been able to find anything close.. but one dayyyy. I found HiTask last night and its oh so close, but it legitimately takes 45seconds to load certain aspects of it which is ABSURD for a productivity app.

    What do you use now?

I also use OneNote. There's just something aesthetically that I don't like about it, but I can't quite put my finger on it. It just doesn't seem intuitively navigable to me. Nit picky, I think. But functionally, it's all that I need. I just love window shopping!

Nope, I agree completely. It feels clunky to use - especially when you put it next to something like Trello that is lightweight & is actually elegant to use (its just complete and utter garbage if you want to actually get things done & not just stare at a pretty but untamable beast of a project list).

I also think the grid system in the pages is a little off. It never feels like things are lined up quite correctly. When I drag tasks from one part of a board to another everything just breaks lol. Nevermind the fact you can't drag them to another page.. even being able to call reference to them like in Excel sheets would be nice..

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :flail:

ETA: Lightweight in its feel, not in its resource usage.

Dude I do this at least once a month for notes, lists, calendars, and email apps. And I always stick with the native OS notes, calendar, and email app (but I hate it). It drives me batty that I even try anymore, but damnit I'll find something awesome one day.

If it makes you feel any better. I've done that at least three times now, and every time ended up sticking with OneNote. I doubt I've learned my lesson and will look again in a few months.

@Kristin Lishowid , I'm guessing it depends on what you have to use it for. But for me it is the one that lets me have the different kind of lists I want for the kind of tasks that I want, some work related, some personal. If I want to write a paragraph on the go I can about a project I can and it takes no effort to later copy that over into another program later on without having to rewrite any of it. I also like the regular and bulleted lists in it. And I like the look of all of it in general, which has been a problem when I've tried out other similar apps, they excel at the list taking, but not if I need to write something longer. And then there's the other biggie, it's the one that syncs the most reliably for me as well.

I don't know if If This Then That would be of any use or even be compatible with any of it, but it's usually my last-ditch effort when I can't get something just right for my specific picky organizational needs.
