    I think that Ars' Technica's argument against mTurk, Expensify, etc., is clearly paper-thin, and that most people with half a brain will see right through it. Effectively, it's free advertising (and a fairly significant amount of link juice for a small site to receive).

    Actually yeah if you check the comments section you're already totes correct. I'm actually kinda surprised how well informed some random folks are about OCR/human fallback transcription haha.. I even learned a thing or two *starts pitching mTurk transcription to random law firms* :emoji_joy:

    while i can see why some may think that way, I actually have had the opposite experience with mturk. I go to the bank and think "I can't believe I'm pulling this much money out for the amount of actual work I've done this week being somewhere around nothing".

    Already had to cancel my order. The store called and said the delivery time is 2:30-3 hrs. Back to my original plan of making pasta.

    The ones up right now are their internal test hits. Nobody is qualled and they pay nothing.
    When they were actually up for people to work, they could be very difficult because they were often obscure celebrities who were difficult to recognize.
