12/13 - Wondrous Wednesday!

Path of Exile ruins my sleep schedule every three months for about a month at a time before I get bored of it.

 

I'm tired af right now but the story is too intense right now to sleep.

 

I think I am splurging on a Honeybaked ham for me and the family so will need to get that on the 22 or so and have to wrap presents but all my other stuff is bought and good to go.

 

Today:

 

I'm going to end up having to spend $19 on shipping for my secret santa gift, and hubby didn't remember saying he wanted his first gift, and has gone back to not wanting, so tonight was an epic fail. I'm not really having a good night

EMAIL CHECKING INTENSIFIES

 

Too much! Our kids' birthday was today (so all the crazy associated with that), and my parents informed me during their phone call to them tonight that they are moving up their visit to begin next Wednesday... until New Years. It adds on 3.5 days to their visit, which doesn't sound like much, but puts it solidly in DEFCON: HELL territory. And there's still no damn snow. And I still have to trim the tree. And now I have to clean 3 days faster (you know, mom inspection). Why is it that I'm 45 and feel like I'm 17?

Still have to put a trike together, and get a few more presents, but most of the Christmas shopping is done. I *should* be fairly mellow, alas...

To be fair I am not looking forward to wrapping my nephew's big gift. I seriously underestimated the size of the Thomas and Friends Super Station.

 

Meanwhile I am almost as far away as possible from my parents while still being in the same state.

 

Maybe if I sign out and sign back in, it will show up.

 

I'm sure this will be just another awesome bonus hit that I thought I did, but turns out I didn't.

 

They're on the south coast of Louisiana and I'm in Illinois. Being far is the problem! They only want to come once a year (because for the looonnnngggggg drive it's not "worth it" to take time off of work for a long weekend when they can just save up those days and use in combo with the holidays to have a "nice long visit". They miss the twins' birthday, but end up being here for the eldest's, and our anniversary is NYE and they usually babysit but we aren't big NYE people, so we end up doing lunch in St. Louis or something because it's too damn expensive to do a hotel and such this time of the year. Oh, and they Grinch that they can't do much with the kids because it's too cold. I'm like, come for Easter! Or a long weekend in summer! But nooooooooo...

If we were smart, we'd live overseas. They don't like flying.
