The 2X4gb is $90 cheaper. I think 2x8 was selected in the link.

Prices on ram have gone up recently. I know because I was gonna order when it was way cheaper and then it went up and never came back down.

Is that why? Makes sense I suppose but I wouldn't think the production process would be the same as computer ram is much larger.

Either way, it's why I only got 8 instead of 16 but I'm hopping to snatch another 8 later.

 

When I got my 16GB kit (8x2) I paid ~$50 for it.

The ram linked is also ddr3 so if you just built a new PC it wouldn't be compatible anyways.
