Newer TV's with game mode do diminish input lag in my experience but I wouldn't say it's the same as playing on a gaming pc/monitor.

He just has no idea how much stuff like decent furniture costs. Even his mother yells at him to be more reasonable. I’ve let him buy shitty things sometimes, just so when he Grinches that they get destroyed easily, he maybe figures out there’s a reason why.

Matt has a lot of gaps in basic knowledge and it’s really funny.

It generally just makes it less sucky.

I did work on a 4K TV and loved it, but had to have it in game mode for the input lag to be bearable. And even then, I would never actually game on it. I just liked snapping windows to the corners and having 1080p in each corner w/o a bezel in the middle.

This happened with the trash can debacle too.

Matt had NO IDEA how much a nice one would cost. And he asked his mom and she spent $$. Then when I got this one he sniped that it seemed small, and it is smaller than the last for sure but 13 gal is enough that I’m not taking the trash out every other day so he’s now decided it’s big enough.

I agree, it's far from ideal. It has gotten better in recent years though. Was just pointing that out.

I can always persuade Matt to build something than spend a bunch of money. That’s how I got my nifty desk. I just showed him a bunch of $$$ reclaimed wood and l shaped desks online and finally wore him down into helping me.

He has a love hate relationship with Pinterest, cause that’s always where I find my next great DIY that he will have to build at least 60% of. He’s always pleased about 2/3 of the way through though, cause he likes his work and how much less he spent by putting effort in.

 

The old saying about spend once on good quality to save money in the long run. My bedroom furniture is my divorced parents hand me down. They bought good stuff. It survived nearly a dozen moves and still looks great and - BONUS - it's Mid-Century Modern. I will have it until I'm dead.

Because then there's my cheap particleboard bed frame that I managed to break after only using for a few months by moving the mattress off of it (which, admittedly I shouldn't have been doing myself because it's big and awkward and heavy, but still).
