That's one of the cool things about userscripts and modern web code:
There's a lot less setup overhead involved before you're ready to start writing scripts that actually do meaningful things.

The amount of time I spent writing game engines in C++ in ~2003-2004ish before I could actually start writing the games was staggering.

He has a kid, he's desperate for money, cut his pay in half because you know he'll have to do it anyway.

You people learn nothing from the platform you work on.

It's exciting. My first week of this semester(my first semester after switching to a major in CIS) has me really glad I switched majors. The material is so much more interesting and it's the first time I've worked ahead in my classes because I wanted to learn even more about it. I even went another step to add in a major in Data Analytics since my Machine Learning class(on ANNs) has been so interesting.

Yeah, jQuery gives you an array-like object (Full-fledged Array that just has jQuery methods added to the prototype? I have no idea. @ChrisTurk is certain to know) for a selector, even if it has 1 or 0 items.

What's causing the awkwardness is that you're blending the jQuery API and native functionality in the same line. The jQuery patterns and native patterns tend to make more sense when you keep each of them to themselves.

You could've replaced $(".well") with document.querySelector(".well") instead of appending[0] and then eliminated the @require jQuery.js line from the metadata.

jQuery is set up the way it's set up so that you can chain methods together without worrying about reference errors from trying to reference things that don't exist.
