since people are rating this post as useful I'd like to point out you should probably change the nevers in it to check for updates, I like doing it very manually, but if you uncheck the auto update boxes but change the nevers to whatever it will tell you that there are updates and ask it it's cool to install them (showing you)

 

Did anyone take advantage of the free stock with Robinhood? I just got Sprint. Appears you can get Ford or Apple. Would have loved to gotten Apple.

Tbh its not just him. I've said it since MTG, situations like this are just waiting to happen with the way people install anything that scrolls through the daily thread. I know you're informed enough to at least have the ability to glance over the code but most people are not and should really consider how they're using tools.

Even I'm not immune to it, I have ridiculous levels of access to raw data running TH/TV/TVJS. Generally people trust I'm not going to hijack all y'alls stuff to install a bitcoin miner or steal your HITs right from your queue, but its never a bad idea to do a run-down security audit of who you're installing/consuming stuff from IMO.

 

If you have it like this, it will check but will not update, just lets you know so you can go take a looksee.

 

yeah I normally just look at stuff when it updates but most people here are even worse than I am with reading JS lol

I generally don't trust anyone with my computer settings, but knowing nothing about scripts and being here, I trust you guys. And this is a perfect example of why that's not a great idea- thank goodness Kad is a robot, doesn't get emotionally butt hurt and isn't vindictive.
