I have never been asked this before on MTurk:

"What is the most popular sports team in your region? "

It had nothing to do with the topic of the HIT. I am intrigued...

 

There were a few questions like that in the HIT.

 

"(I don't like dogs.)"

 

I have always thought they might be using it as a popularity metric of some kind.

Either that, or they have certain Turkers that end up with unusually high percentages and they go with that.

I don't think they actually expect us to outpick experts and computers.
