I never have. The company seems to be great about replacing it, if it is within the warranty period (1 year).The strap on my surge kept bubbling and they actually sent me 3 new ones over the course of the year.

 

they even sell mcd's grounds in this huge tub for like $8 at walmart. and i'm kind of jealous, i used to be able to drink coffee 24/7 but i have to cut myself off around 5pm if i want to sleep at all. i do still like starbucks for the frou frou drinks at the right time/place (you can pry pumpkin spice latte out of my cold dead hands) but all of the sugar sometimes makes me feel like death.

yep 100%, i was going to go that way with it too lol. people think of beer as the big three and don't even realize that there are 100+ styles. same with coffee/tea/whatever.

 

I could never catch a March Madness hit yesterday. Will there be anymore or was that it?

For temperature 96c (205f) is what I hear most people brewing coffee at and interestingly enough that is similar to the temperature that most black teas are brewed at.

FYI, Re: C-SAT

I know many just stick with this forum, but a rep checks in on another of the main forums and has posted before answering questions, including about writing. That info has been shared here before, but to reiterate - they do not require writing. They seem aware that this is a budget model and not the best paying, they've mentioned potentially implementing a bonus system in the future if you provide comments because they are passed on directly to the surgeon, but it is not required and they've said so explicitly.

I've had others missing the word "optional", think more just happened to notice today with the 1.16. It's the 1.12 that always says the word optional.

been there and It takes me a good 4-5 minutes to get up the steps and down the hall so gotta factor that in as well...but those sweet batches you know will be gone by the time you get back, siggghh

i should know better because brewing beer has to be at very very precise temps too, but i grew up boiling water and throwing it over a lipton tea bag without ever knowing there was a proper way to do it. whenever my vintage kettle whistles is when it's ready, which is probably not a science, lol.

 

Yeah some of those $29.99 drinks at Starbucks are pretty good but the regular coffee for me always has this weird metal like taste that i can never quite figure out wtf it is and I drown it with sugar.
