Oh man, thanks for the reminder. My 1-year 'promo' ended this month and I need to go threaten to cut off service...again. Maybe this time they won't try and get to me sign up for cable. Their lovely box and remote are still shrink wrapped because I don't watch TV.

 

Would you expect any less from me? I grew up with a heavily sexist, withholding, single dad, and since I wasn't as athletic as my older sister my only way to spend time with him was watching sports, cooking him dinner, and fixing things around the house/whatever DIY project he was on. I naturally went on to date a long line of engineers who also let me hand them tools and insist I learn how to wire planes and cars and fix engines to spend time with them. This probably explains a lot about me and is how I've traveled with an f200 team on weekends and learned to fly planes. Clemson FSAE was pretty fun though and flying planes is badass so at least if nothing else I've picked up cool hobbies!

I always crack up that Lowe's was meant to attract female shoppers but Home Depot statistically has more female shoppers. I find something soothing about those orange smocks. I usually walk in with such bizarre questions and a look that says, "I don't want to ask my boyfriend!"

jk turns out I can't really math as well as I thought I could when I haven't had a single ounce of caffeine yet, ugh

 

I have one of each within 2 miles of my house, so it just depends on my mood which one I'll go to. I start most conversations with "This is what I want to do, and my husband says I can do it if I can figure it out myself..." He'll jump in and help because his machinist self doesn't like my "Oh, it's not a perfect angle...or it's just off 1/8 of an inch" attitude, so we end up doing my projects together, haha. The little old retired guys are my favorite to talk to because they tell the best stories, and give the best advice.
