I'm open to anything that will get the job done efficiently lol I just gotta do something. I am running on an HP 2000 Notebook pc right now and it sucks!

 

Standing desk? Or tall table so you can either stand/move or sit while you work.

Webpages/video load immediately. I do have fast connection, though. The resolution is 1920 x 1080. Even has a backlit keyboard, which is unusual for a $350 laptop.

Like someone else said, disable all of the unnecessary stuff (Microsoft collects info on all of their installed apps, unless you disable it).

That's something I haven't thought of. I will have to look at desktops, too. I just had in my mind a laptop, never even thinking about what I could put one on. Thanks.

There are a lot of resources on ergonomics for desk work that reduce strain on your back. Really worth looking into.

I can get down with conspiracy theories about UFOs, samsquanches, woodpecker grids, how Timothy McVeigh was trained in explosives on a US Military base during the only window of his life that the FBI claims to know nothing about, how we all exist in the imagination of a Boltzmann Brain, how it's more probable that we are just beings inside a computer simulation, how time is a flat circle, and that the "fluoride" in our drinking water is put there by the government to control our minds...but that dude just does not know what he's talking about. She' obviously a shapeshifting lizard person.

^ Long expired, but the listing will show you the stats of what I picked up in June 2017 for $346 (the i7-3770 model). About $200 in RAM and SSD upgrades later, and it does what I need to do and it does it well. Not the greatest thing under the sun, but if you dumped $500 into something like that +upgrades, you'd have a significantly better rig than a $500 laptop.
