The things that made preworkouts good are now banned for exploding peoples hearts.. so if you aren't ordering it off ebay, you're probably taking caffeine+niacin(omg feel the rush!)+5hour energy in powder form anyway at 10x the cost

I quoted this one so that it would tag you, but want to address a piece from below as well. Food will give you the longer drive/energy to keep going. The fact that you are cramping minutes into the workout screams water and potassium to me. Try smashing a banana on the way. As for water you can do your own research on how many ounces per pound of body weight. I will tell you I am 170 and consume around 1 gallon per day. I prefer to have the 1 gallon jugs where I can see how much I have consumed. If I have 1 bottle of water, for some reason I will never refill it. You give me 1 big jug and I'll keep drinking. Set a goal and stick to it. The first few days you will pee a million times, but after that you will feel great.

As for food, don't forget drinks contain many calories as well. @ChrisTurk pointed out that you are where the kitchen means the most. If you google Copper State FIT and look at their coaches you will find the success of my wife Sabrina (Look at the transformation on the bottom of her bio)...You've got this!
