    I love when I clean up my garden and plant a new one, and volunteer plants still come up where old ones were from the leftover veggies from last year. Tomatoes are so good at that. I also love when bird seed sprouts sunflowers. I plant a ton of sunflowers that squirrels dig up unless I grow them inside first and transplant them... but somehow the bird seed, which the squirrels are allowed to eat, are the ones that plant themselves and survive. They're all coming up now and I'm so excited. :flail:

    The old owners of my house had a mulch/compost pile in the yard, so when I was planting my plants - I reused some of the old potting soil that was dumped there. Apparently they dumped a basil plant that went to seed so had a bunch of surprise basil growing up with my peppers. Free basil, good deal.
