Ahhhh Power is finally back on. That was a rough one, guys.

Too much rain and So Cal literally breaks down.

 

I guess you didn't buy those UPSs when I posted them awhile back.

 

I don't know what that is but I did order that chair you posted about once.
It's fucking awesome.

 

UPSs are battery backups that keep your shit powered if the power goes out. I know @ChrisTurk has some for his computers and I have two that just keep my tv and internet up if the power goes out (then I can just dick around on my laptop for an hour or so until the power comes back up)

I think that I recall posting a chair awhile ago... What sort of chair did you upgrade from?

A $25 wooden chair from IKEA.
For USP I would have to get one for my Mac and then one for my modem and router since they're far away.
But are they good for extended periods of time? My power was out for at least 24 hours.

Yep anyone with 0 rejects is a unicorn.

 

For long periods of time like that you need gas generators but UPS will keep the power from flickering while the generator spins up.

 

There's a few of them running around here.

tl;dr UPSs are for up to 2 hours max on a light load but normally under an hour... anything past that you need a gas generator.
