Well yes of course they do but the tradeoff is that if you're filling up on apples and broccoli you aren't stuffing doughnuts down your gullett. I mean you'd have to eat like 10 bananas to have a huge impact on your daily calorie count. Having said that once I felt like we could do WW without the app and points we switched to pure calorie tracking with my myfitnesspal, and mapmyfitness.

I'll have to do some research re look at some things that didn't work for me in the past. It's the sedentary lifestyle that scares me. I no burn more calories than you consume =weight lose just afraid I actually figure out what I can eat I'm going to say screw this.

Weight Watchers has the highest re-gain rate of anything. Something like 95% of people can't keep the weight off if they stop using the program. So unless you reach their idea of your perfect weight and get lifetime status, you're going to be paying for the rest of your life to stay on the system, or gain the weight back. Don't get me wrong, I love the support system, and it's easy to follow, you're just not learning what you need to learn to continue it on your own. I've had lots of success with them, I just gain it all back as soon as I can't afford to pay them any more.

To me that's the biggest benefit of WW. Nothing is off limits so you learn to prioritize the things you really want and portion control everything else. Plus you learn how to substitute healthy things in place of bad ones. A good example is that we leaned how to make a sort of faux sour cream because we love Mexican and now we still prefer to use that over real sour cream even though we don't do WW anymore. It helps change the way you look at food and after you feel like you've got that down it's much easier to monitor yourself without being on an actual 'diet'.

It's funny we posted completely diff things at the same time lol. I had the exact opposite happen. After a few months I felt like I had learned a ton and didn't need them anymore. We only used the app and never the meetings or coaches. To me the meetings and 'support system' would feel more like following along to avoid shame rather than changing my way of thinking about food.

Being active is still way better since it helps your cardiovascular health, well help keep you from being skinny fat and a bunch of other stuff. Sitting all the time is also pretty bad for your health too.
I get why they have it like that. That's ~100cals for the banana which isn't that small if you include all the other things that aren't being tracked.
Using MFP is free and is like a more accurate WW.

I also found it funny we posted opposite opinions at the same time. It really is different for every person. I also tried WW one time (out of the 4 or 5 I've tried) after doing traditional calorie counting and it was shortly after they introduced points plus and the free foods and I just couldn't wrap my brain around how much food I HAD to eat to hit my points. It was insane!

Get some small dumbbells and resistance bands to use at home. Any activity helps and calories are calories no matter which part of your body is burning them.
