    Peanut noodles. Peanut butter, rice wine vinegar (any vinegar), soy sauce, honey (or sugar), any oil (peanut is best though), and chopped green onions or garlic. On spaghetti/any noodles.

    This time of year? Find someone with zucchini or squash plants. They're likely drowning in overproduction. Ramen. Peanut butter. Eggs. Pasta. Make a big cheap pot of something and eat off of it for the week: marinara sauce, chili, red beans or white beans, gumbo or soup, etc., oatmeal, grits.

    One of my fave cheap foods is just to kinda julienne onions, and caramelize them in olive oil, and with pasta with a little black pepper. So simple and crazy yummy and the olive oil makes it filling.

    Look for good sales and work from there. Pasta can be cheap and it a good base for a lot. Dried beans are pretty cheap.
    I've seen some good looking recipes on this blog although I've only tried the naan.
