Why feed the squirrels though? The squirrels have no functional use to me that I know of, so they don't get fed. Sorry little rat bros, find a way to be useful if you want the goods. They have fleas/ticks no? Bird pests seem to mostly stick to the birds (mites or w/e) so they're a net-win in the pest control war.. squirrels I thought were on the wrong side of the battle lol.

The cardinals have decimated the yard pests. I honestly have cut my pesticide use by like 80% because they just eat freaking anything that moves in the yard so I only have to spray the house itself, which means I also can spray more of the house & it gets nicer coverage + a 4ft yardline around it and we seem to be net positive on the lack of bugs.

Only down side is the birds also ate all the cool anole bros.. like legit every single one, gone in one season LOL. But they apparently do not eat skinks, which have moved in to fill the gap but move too quickly (and aren't bright green) so cannot be trusted like the anoles could. Thus far its been the only down side though.

Hah, I've been lucky the squirrels don't try to screw w/ the feeder itself they just stick to all the crap on the ground. Which is somewhat fine b/c the only other birds that eat regularly that are those stupid doves and frankly its a wash between those goofy things & the bushy tailed rats
