    My dad was a smoker too, I wasn't allowed to play with lighters so the thought of lighting one never even crossed my mind. It's also the only cigarette I've ever smoked. Hmmm, the key must be to get to them young with the candy and they'll never want the real thing.

    You're on to it. I didn't have them as a kid and smoked for like 5 years. Husband got me to stop. Put up with me quitting cold turkey too.

    I used to light toothpicks and kebab sticks and use those to light candles and play with the wax. And I would just light allll the scented candles and votives I could find.

    I think smelling like an ashtray from my toddlerhood until teenage years was what turned me off from the idea. I also wrote a few letters and well-researched 5-page long book reports for my dad on the dangers of smoking, so I probably convinced myself.
