I lol-ed, but it's true.

It's super common in this state to get off early on friday I've noticed. Most of our friends get out a couple hours earlier. And yes to the 4 days/10 hours thing. He usually works 8-10 + mandatory OT cause launch is behind schedule. Everyone had to take off last weekend cause between matt falling asleep while driving and several meltdowns, people were over working. They normally work like 50 hour weeks, but it's been nutso lately.

The company (and I'm sure a lot of others) found everyone was wayyyyy perkier when they could take 3 days weekends to go camping/travel/relax a couple times a month. Usually, as long your work is getting done and you don't roll up into work at 11am every day, they don't care that much when your hours get done. Matt comes into work an hour later than some of the folks, but they leave earlier than he does and so on and so forth.

I mean, it's not crazy tho. They get as much freedom as they do because they are expected to put in extra time when it's needed and make a good judgement call about when it's approp to take a friday off versus when they need to come in. If Matt misses his launch deadline, he loses part of his bonus too so there's that on the line for everyone.
