thanks! And it's not a significant problem for me in that everything will get annotated eventually (even the ones that are impossible eventually get claimed by someone) but I want working on my HITs to be as streamlined as possible, considering that they ask a lot out of you already (particularly with writing).

This. This is why I wanted your qual, @rowan . Every time I think about submitting a less than bulletproof rationale, your attitude and demeanor here push me to work through it or start over with a different question that has better rationale. I admit, most of the time, I feel like I'm not overly certain I'm giving you what you want (I tend toward generalizations and inferences about the situation as seen on frame as they relate irl) not as simple as the examples most of the time. ..and I worry that my verbiage is too far above a five-year-old, but then i get emails that point out one of my q/a/r as outstanding, and that sort of quells that fear. But, like @jessers said, it gets hard not to cherry-pick here and there while trying to avoid repetitious q's or similar rationales. And I don't want to submit junk q/a/r so.. I guess all-in-all I'm saying due to the variety of strengths and weaknesses of our individual thinking processes, a fraction will always end up being cherry-picked either purposefully, or because someone backed out after trying (giving the impression of cherry-picking). But, showing up and being real with us all will continually help to minimize that by allowing us all an opportunity to zero-in better on the data you need/quality of data that we provide.
