What even are legs and what even are arms?

Do spiders have 8 arms or 8 legs? They use their appendages to grab stuff and wrap stuff up, so are they arms? But also use these same "arms" to walk, so are they legs? Do they wear shoes on these appendages? If no shoes, they must be hands. But no mittens.
