This got me to click it b/c I have no idea how/why you'd autotune bagpipes but.. @Kayashi you find some interesting music, I like it lol.

 

PSA: A few weeks ago we were talking about Alexa whispering on the forum.
She whispers now. say "Alexa turn on whisper mode" -
then you can whisper to her, and she'll whisper back.

 

It's fucking wild. Like how does she know I'm whispering? And how come I can wihsper super softly from across the room - and she hears me.

It's enough that I had that "laughing for no reason" glitch awhile ago. And sometimes when I'm in bed and the house is completely silent, I can hear her say something like, "I'm sorry, I didn't catch that." and I nope myself to sleep pretending I didn't hear anything. I don't want to give her any more creepy ideas.

 

Not owning one seems easier.

 

Is the whispering that weird ASMR shit?

 

I mostly use mine as a bluetooth speaker and to set timers. I'm under utilizing it, but I like to think it keeps her spooky shit in check so she doesn't go all Skynet on me.

 

I like it. It's nice having it set up to all my philips hue, so I can just have her turn off the lights and turn on the fan when I'm in bed and whatnot. I just wish I got google home instead. Alexa is kind of dumb about knowledge questions

 

Oh, and asking her to tell me jokes. That's fun. And I installed the thing to make her meow and bark on command to fuck with my pets.

 

Those things are basically always listening. To everything you say. I believe they record and upload to Amazon's servers as well. I know Microsoft's version does so they can help improve voice recognition.

 

Oh god, I can already see my dog eating it. It wouldn't last a day if it meowed.
